My new RPi B+ 2 will not boot with mini SD that will boot RPi "A", downloaded updates.  What is the trick?

The updates include apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, apt-get install raspberrypi-ui-mods, and rpi-update  the ls /boot/ lists kernel7.img.  This SD card will still boot in the earlier version RPi A but it does not seem to try to boot the new RPi B+ 2.  What is next?

Did you overclock the CPU? Remove since different for RPi 2... Really the best is download latest NOOBS or Raspian which should be 2-2-2015 on new SD. I did and mine works great. Clem

Thank you, Clem. I am downloading Raspbian now, and will go that route. I had hoped the B+ would be backward compatible. Thanks, Fred Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S III, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

You won’t be able to simply plug an SD card from the “A” into the PI 2 and back and expect it to work

You need separate image for each, get a new SD card for the PI 2 and download the new images from Raspberrypi.org and you should be good to go

@Tim Jewell : I do not believe windows 10 is available yet, but more information will be released the coming months.

    You could check : https://dev.windows.com/en-us/featured/raspberrypi2support

we will be sharing more details about our Windows 10 plans for IoT in the coming months.

    Robert Peter Oakes,

From what I see about Windows 10 does not look like a full Windows environment because of the way the coding may be crippled IMHO. But we will need to wait and see.

I am fairly certain it will follow something like the compact framework but updated

While I have no expectations it will be as full as the Windows 8 on Surface pro 3 for example, I would expect something like that found on an ARM Surface 1 or 2 but with a windows 10 look and feel

My anticipation is more about being able to code using C# and the .net library and that will be there for sure and supported by the community edition of the Visual Studio IDE

But to conclude, Yes we will have to wait and see, Speculating can be fun but it is only speculation
