HDMI encoding and decoding chips

Question

Hi folks! This is my first post here so please move this to the relevant area if needed.
I am looking to start a project that will be using HDMI encoding and decoding, I am looking for low cost chips to help me do this. For now, I'm looking at 1080P, but if the carrier is wide/fast enough then hopefully I can do 4K. Those details don't matter for now as I need a proof of concept / prototype.
I'm not sure how I should look for these devices, as I don't know particular model names or who manufactures these devices.

Please reply with manufacturers and part numbers to look at.

I am not sure if you mean the decoding of the TMDS signals to parallel video, or compressed video (transport stream) decoding to uncompressed video.

For the former problem, I've successfully used the ADV7611 for HDMI v1.3 decoding.
