Choosing the appropriate current clamp meter

Hi 

I  have four infrared lamps. I'm not sure of the current/ voltage specifications of these lamps.

I want to use 4 lamps together; at the same time I don't want to overload the power socket.

Thus, I want to monitor the current through each lamp. Which current clamp meter is appropriate?

Need your advice.

    If you don't know the current and voltage requirement, how are you going to connect it to the mains to determine that? A current clamp meter won't help you determine the lamp requirement.

    If you are asking questions like this, you should leave this to an expert (and consult the manufacturer to determine the specification!).

    If these lamps fit a standard AC lamp socket, that indicates the voltage they expect.

    The current can be measured with almost any AC clamp meter as long as you can clamp it around just one of the wires.

    You could indicated what country you are in - which will indicate the voltage and power available at a typical outlet.

    If the lamp has some DC connector that expects 12 Volts or something like that, it would be better to post a picture, to get a better response.
