Tenma Power Supply Firmware & Schematics (72-13300, 72-13310, 72-13320, 72-13330)

Hello guys,

I recently broke my Tenma power supply, model number 72-13310 (it belongs to the series 72-133xx). The front panel is unresponsive, leading me to believe one of the microcontrollers may be faulty.

Does anyone have any schematics or firmware files for this series of power supplies? I'd be very disspointed to have to throw away a good supply which only needs the cheaper digital electronics repairing / replacing.

Thanks for any help!

For anybody in the future landing on this thread, the manufacturer of Tenma power supplies is actually a group called "Korad". The specific PSU in question is model "KD3305D". They were extremely helpful…

Can't help with schematics but I offer a little shred of hope.

You may get support from Farnell on this but the days of manufacturers routinely providing schematics and assistance with things like this are long gone.

But try contacting the supplier customer service department.

If you don't get any schematics, don't give up ........

Very often the fault will be in connectors or solder joints. Carefully take the instrument apart and have a look  - nothing to lose.

Post some pictures here if you need advice.

I could try to check with the OEM manufacturer whether they willing to share the schematic or firmware for the microcontrollers inside the power supply. There is no guarantee that I could get it as such information maybe confidential to their company (I shall get back to you on this). Is the power supply still within the 1 year warranty period?

Sorry for the late reply. As kind of expected, manufacturer is reluctant to share the information out to the public. Do you manage to find any abnormalities inside the box that may offer a glimpse of hope?

They were extremely helpful, and sold me a new controller PCB which brought my power supply back to life. They also were happy to share schematics so I could attempt to repair the broken board at my leisure.

Looks like the spirit is not entirely dead. It would have been useful if Farnell had told me the Mfr name but I found out via other forums (EEVBlog)
