I would like to replace the phtotransistors of r.o.b nintendo robot with something new.

Hello,

I have a little project in mind. I would like to replace the phototransistors of the nintendo r.o.b robot to capture on the raspberry pi the lights sent from crt tv when playing game like gyromite to decide what the robot will do with that.

Any suggestion of type of phototransistors I could use and how to plug it onto pi ?

And once it is plugged, how I read the differents signals/colors captured ?
