GAMING CHAIR

permission
permission over 3 years ago

Hi everyone... I have been thinking of buying a video game chair and started doing some research. Currently, I play console and use a large bean bag from LoveSac. My Sac is great, but it would be great to have more support overall. My research has lead me to few brands. Namely DXRacer, X Rocker, Merax, Maxnomic, and Arozzi. I know I do not want a chair with speakers. Therefore, most (if not all) of the X Rocker chairs are likely out. Money is not really concern. I have seen some chairs around $500, but ideally I would want the best chair for money. However, I would be willing to pay for quality gaming chair comfort. Other info that may help: I am 6' tall, 210 lbs, and longer in my torso than legs with longer than average arms. Comfort and support are important. Color options and looks are secondary.

So this is were you come in... What are your thoughts, opinions, and recommendations on chairs? Would you buy yours again? Have you ever had a negative experience with a particular brand? Etc...I appreciate any and all feedback here. Thanks for reading and helping a fellow Agent out!

Suggest an office chair.. software (including game) developers often sit for the majority of 10+ hours in front of a monitor and keyboard, so there are plenty of ergonomic, tried-and-tested options. Usually they are highly configurable for your size, back, and arm length etc. If you think you have unusual dimensions then look for the most configurable office chairs.

Typical office chairs are Aeron, Humanscale, etc. They are pricey but ebay would be an option.

I use a gaming chair even though I am not a gamer because it is more comfortable than a task chair, especially for long sessions. I need the seat portion to support my legs all the way to my knees to distribute the load better. I find office chairs to be too short in the seat, and I get sore from sitting in them for extended periods, even the really expensive chairs. I also want a chair that can recline further than a task chair. This game chair has all the adjustments and gas shocks that expensive task chairs have but it can also fully recline and it is tall enough to support my head when reclining. It also has adjustable lumbar and neck support cushions. It isn't perfect though - the arm rests, which have the usual adjustments, also automatically slide forwards and backwards with your arms. I don't like this and have 3-D printed stoppers that I snap on the underside to prevent this motion. You might notice I have added a fancy arm rest on the right side - this is still experimental - not ideal yet. This chair was much less expensive than a comparable task chair - I think I paid about $150 on sale.

My chair at work is very good and every expensive, but I prefer this one.
