can we use part #HCPL2631SDM as replacement for HCPL2631SD

can you please explain impact due to variation in output current

    Only you can answer this question.

    There are published data sheets for both parts.

    Without details of your appication and a shcematic it is impossible to say if the parts are interchangeable for you.

    Normal practice would be for you to carefully check schematic and any design or test documentation againsth the specs of the parts and then follow that with a one off test on the bench and finally with a controlled production run of a statisitically significant number of parts.

    If that all sounds like too much hard work then just swap one into a working board and see if it still works.
