Using an Android logic board to connect to display

Adynimis

I am wanting to prototype a system that uses an existing logic board like from a Samsung or another Android, and connect that to a 3rd party flexible AMOLED display. I'm curious on the engineering side of this, cause I can get the system running on a standard SBC because of the available hdmi port. Any suggestions on parts that may have a converter or something similar.

More of a programmer than an engineer.

    Hi,
Even Samsung that you mention, would perform significant engineering for one of their boards to be able to connect to a display in their phones. So, for you to try to attach a different display, would involve similar levels of experience and time (and a team to support you).

To reduce the time, you may need to find known working combinations of boards and displays, and that is google'able. For instance, here is a known working combination of a Flexible AMOLED and driver board and software, to interface to a Raspberry Pi SBC: https://www.waveshare.com/6inch-hdmi-amoled.htm

If you try to change one of these components, for instance, swapping out the AMOLED display for a different model, then you're back in unchartered territory unless you can find someone else that has already done it and published their code and interfacing connections or circuit. The 'someone else' that I refer to will have studied the datasheets for the parts, perhaps used an oscilloscope to test their code, and built a circuit to interface it. All of these are skills which you would need to learn if you wish to be that person.
