SCPI Support for Multicomp MP730027 Digital Multimeter

Just purchased the MP730027 to create an automated test platform measuring resistance and capacitance.

The USB connection works fine with the DMMEasyControl application.

I'm able to control the instrument with it.

The issue is now I want to create an SCPI script to configure and query the instrument for a measurement and there is no documentation on the Newark Website.

Does anyone know what manufacturer makes this instrument?

I'm new to SCPI. Is there some sort of application that I should purchase or download to use to send commands and receive queries to/from the instrument?

Hi,

There's information here regarding that multimeter, including some example code (Python, using a library called pyvisa) demonstrating how to do an instrument query. I didn't see a complete example, but you could write a comment to ask the author if the information at that link is insufficient or if you get stuck.

For this Python/SCPI video, I used the MP730028, which is the same meter platform (but with a higher digit count.)

Here is the programming manual I used for it.

Here is a sample program written in Python. You can see the SCPI strings I'm sending to read the active measurement value even if you aren't using Python.
