Dmg powering on but absolutely nothing on screen.

  • Hello!  I’ve scoured forums, videos and have found lots of info on troubleshooting issues with powering on and at least something on the screen, lines, black screen, etc.  my specific problem is powering on (red led) but no activity on screen.  The screen looks the same cut on or off.  Any thoughts on where to begin troubleshooting?  I read a capacitor kit wouldn’t hurt .  Thanks community.

Edit update:
This should have been part of a previous question I had ask the community.  Basically have a 1 owner we’ll kept gameboy that will power on but no activity on the screen and no sound.  To my eye everything looks very clean.  Thanks experts!

Hi Bradley, More information is needed. What is 'Dmg'? Here's the type of information that would help others help you: (Missing Blog Post) (not all of it may apply, but a lot more detail is needed).

Sounds like a power problem (or you don't have a cartridge plugged in, which I doubt is the case). As the DMG would exhibit this behaviour when it was low on battery power. Could well be capacitor problem…

Yes original. It was a Christmas present as a child and I’ve had it ever since.  I’ve taken good care of this unit over the years but am puzzled to what the issue is.

Yes It very well could be.  I’ll check on that.  Thank you.  Btw I have been using batteries laying around .  Maybe a fresh pack of batteries.
