The KMT32B-TD chip can accurately determine the angle and rotation of a magnetic field. datasheet I used one to control the steering angle of a robot: Sixth Sense - Magnetic Angle Sensor - GraffitiBot…

Yes. You need to know decide on minimum speed you want to detect to decide if its running or stopped so you know how long to wait for a pulse. https://www.automation.com/en-us/articles/june-2021/how…

    Hello

are you tring to get to get indication of speed or of direction or both ?

are you going to put a magnet on the wheel or on the shaft. ?

what would be the maximum RPM   ?

is this a temporary build or long time  ?

is it covered or in a wet environment ?

Yes.  You need to know decide on minimum speed you want to detect to decide if its running or stopped so you know how long to wait for a pulse.

    https://www.automation.com/en-us/articles/june-2021/how-encoders-provide-motor-speed-position-control

When a gearbox is used, its better to detect the motor shaft position and speed because you get more  pulses on the high rpm side of a gearbox or pulley.

do you what an off the shelf sensor that just screws to what ever frame there is and has 3 wires +v end and out put

or 2 wires and that needs a pull up resister to +v

or is this on a budget where you want a TO92 package on some vero board

is there already some dc v near by ?

what out put of sensor is required eg 0 to 5v

how stable is the environment for screwing a sensor to

is the wheel only going 1 direction

the sensor are pull push output, and they works on 5v. the wheel go to CW and CCW.

the sytem is basic like this operation: the wheel rotate CW maybe 5 ou 6 times, than return to original position on CCW.

the movement have around 25hz , some time 10, other 15 or 25.

the time is between this values.
