Has anyone fixed Trimble Nomad downhole tool

Hello 

in the last few months i have replaced the back up "gold" cap in the trimble and in the down hole tool.

and also replaced the IR transmit/recieve device in battery assembly

this has been intermittent with operation for some time.

some times i get Msg190 (no data from tool)

sometimes I get  MSG111 (wrong date/time format) eg day 1 of month 0 of year 2000

this unit uses IR  compaired to modern units use BT

when this says no data ( what is because it is already transmitting streem.)

the instruction book is basic or useless

    I don't have experience with this equipment but this type of intermittent problem is often due to cables and connectors, or in the case of IR, the cleanliness and alignment of optical surfaces.
