ATI BGA microcontroller question

mattm8913

I am working with some folks on an electronics repair project, and we have come across a microcontroller with ATI part number 216T9NGBGA13FHG.  We would like to substitute it with part number 216T9NGBGA13FH, which is the same part number without the trailing G.  We have been able to decode the digits of the part number with the exception of that final letter, G.  In order to justify the substitution should we experience a future inspection, we need some sort of datasheet stating the meaning of that trailing G, but we are unable to find it.  Does anyone know the meaning and have some paperwork to prove it?

Awesome.  Do you have any datasheets or other manufacturer paperwork to prove that?

I still can't find one for it - the only link that I found was broken.  Can you locate any sources which state that this was their numbering scheme?

Try asking AMD they may still have an archive.

If you really need the datasheet try searching for M9-CSP64.

    This?

Do you have the broken link to hand?

This site claims to have the datasheet but requires registration: https://www.jotrin.com/product/parts/M9_CSP64_216T9NGBGA13FHG  / https://www.jotrin.com/product/parts/M9_CSP64_216T9NGBGA13FH

That is exactly the one but good luck finding a datasheet. RoSH documents maybe. Jotrin, don't count on it.

I would have to go digging again to find the website that had a non-functional link to the datasheet, but it seemed like a semi-sketchy one based in China.  It's probably not worth revisiting.  Regarding Jotrin, though, the link also does not contain a datasheet.  It gives an error stating that it can't find that page.  I've sent an inquiry to them, so we'll see what they find.

However, the important thing is to prove that the G indicates RoHS compliance, and I can't find any documents stating that either.  I don't know if there are other components from ATI with a similar trailing G whose datasheets are more widely available and might contain that part numbering nomenclature.  How would I look for that?

Your best bet is with AMD unless there is an old ATI engineer around that still has files or an OEM that had had a login and downloaded.

Ah that is irritating, not quite direct download links meaning they're unlikely to have been captured by the internet archive as that.
