crystal and ultrasonic

Good morning,

I know ... crystals are usually not ultrasonic washable ... but what about the Farnell-part 2853936 ( MCSJK-7U-16.00-12-10-80-B-10 ) ? Can I apply the pcb with the part to the ultrasonic after placement and  reflow-soldering?

    I wash parts similar to this (other makes) without a second thought and with no problems.

    A 32kHz crystal might be a problem because its resonant frequency will be quite close to that of a typical ultrasonic cleaner.

    If you are really worried do a test - measure the frequency of the oscillator accurately (1ppm or better), wash it, and check it again.

    If it changes - don't clean them. Remember to do some control parts that get all the process (including dipping in the cleaning tank)  except the ultrasonic.
