Ordered from element14?
You meant that black dielectric pad is missing in the connector?
Do you have a picture of the connector you received?
element14 is not a sales outlet - they don't sell products.
Connectors always have a dielectric between contacts, whether it looks like we expect or not.
The dielectric between contacts is only one aspect of high voltage rating. Contacts this close together cannot be exposed to air, if you expect 500 volts between contacts - the air would breakdown and arc. You would need a conformal coating to prevent arcing.
The electronics associated with these connectors would need to be pretty special if they are expected to survive 500 volts.
Please check the pic
thank you
I think the connectors will work. These are vertically mounted connectors. Don't push the connector all the way into the PCB ( Chances of shorting between pins ), leave a small gap.
What I can see is that the black part missing is acting like a spacer. If it's a production ready design facing costumers then I would recommend don't use these connectors, If it's some kinda hobby project use it carefully.
Will not use it cuz we are not sure if it's brand new parts.
Thank you so much
yes, supplier told this
