Wii Control repair

Hi guys

Probably, it has already been discussed somewhere, but I did not find how to troubleshoot and repair Wii Controllers, which were affected by corrosion.

My son stays a big fan of Wii Games - not Switch. We recently bought a cheap bundle of Wii + controllers. We knew they had problems and found a lot of corrosion on a controller.

We cleaned them up and they started to work but eventually stopped - no power. 

I tried to follow the video about failed "fusers" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WYrfmzNLEY  But looks like all "fusers" are ok. 

I measured the voltage - +3.0, but the middle button is getting hot. The batteries are losing the voltage relatively rapidly: -0.1 V per several minutes.

    The middle button is heating up. It suggests that there may be a short circuit or excessive current draw in that area of the board. Check the area around the button and nearby components for solder joints that might be touching accidentally or damaged traces.If the controller worked briefly and then stopped, it's possible that a capacitor or other surface-mount component near the heating area has failed.
