Installing a reset button on Rasp Pi 3

I have seen where people used the P6 on the Pi 2 to install a reset button and really wanted to do that on my Pi 3. I am just getting started on Pi's and trying to learn as much as I can before I get my son involved. Is it possible that instead of the P6 via's I could use the PP44 or Run via's on the Pi 3? I basically want a reset so that after shutdown I can trip a switch to restart the Pi
