Building a Battery using LifePO4 38120 Headways cells

Hey all,

I'm in need of some help building battery using lifepo4 38120 headway cells. They are 3.2v at 8mps per cell. I have (12) Cells. What I need help in is how to connect them so I can get 12v and whatever amperage this becomes.

Can anyone help me with the configuration of the battery?

    you wont get 12V exactly, your choice would be 9.6V (3 series batteries) by 32 Amps (4 parallel batteries) in series with 2 more packs resulting in a 3S4P set. or 12.8V (4 series batteries) built with…

    You will need to check the spec of the batteries but one issue with lithium batteries is the greater range of operating voltage than lead acid.

    4 batteries will give you 14.4V when fully charged and just under 12V when discharged. 

    The faster you discharge them the less energy you will get out  - this is true for all batteries.

    What load will you be driving ?

     Robert Peter Oakes is right to suggest that you will need a proper balanced charger.

    These are not LiPo, there lifepo4 and are lower voltage even when charging so more important to get the matching charger/balancer

    3.6V fully charged, 4 * 3.6 = 14.4

    Lithium Ion or polymer closer to 4V so 16V for 4 fully charged.
