i am currently modding an Xbox one controller and am curious if it’s at all possible to solder in a new button that would activate both the bumper buttons at once without affecting their normal functionality?

Are you able to check if the buttons share a common ground or common power? I've only replaced the analogue sticks on these controllers. The trigger buttons are analogue also, but I believe the bump buttons are just switches.
Ben Hecks controller mod video (9:20 minutes in) says they are common ground and even lists a pin out.

It may be possible to do it with the addition of a couple of diodes?
This might do the job. The two buttons on the left are the original bump buttons, the button on the right is your new button. The diodes allow the new button to ground both bumps simultaneously. But maintain individual operation of each button.
Hopefully the voltage drop across the diodes won't prevent it from working.
