How Will Collaborative Robots Be Used In the Future

image

Collaborative robots are designed to work with human workers, as co-workers, while traditional robots work by themselves (i.e., welding robots).

Collaborative robots are being AI-driven, featuring machine vision, to enhance their safety.

Collaborative robots are being used for repetitive or difficult tasks, short production runs, and man-machine tasks.

Collaborative robots are perhaps the newest kind of robotic technology.

Here's the question: How do you think collaborative robots will use used in the future?

Add space travel. It is a long voyage to just the planets in our solar system let alone stars. Think Buck Rogers.

I think collaborative robots will be used for managing randomized activity over large areas - things like:

    • early detection and fighting of forest fires
    • tracking, herding and managing livestock and even wild animals
    • finding fish
    • finding lost people
    • locating and aiding people stranded by natural disasters
    • cleanup of toxic spills
    • farming - planting, pest control, harvesting, picking etc.
