I hadn't heard of Zhaga before. I'm glad to see the industry moving towards more standards. Unfortunately, a side effect of the move towards more advanced and electronic systems has been a loss of standardisation and interoperability - gone are the days when you could use a GE starter, Osram tube, and Thorn ballast in a Philips fitting controlled by a Schneider sensor and ABB contactor.

Of course, we now regularly exceed 100lm/W and most of the fittings will outlast the ceiling they're installed in.

Zhaga has evolved quite a lot from when I last read into it when it was just LED modules and drivers.

DALI and ground answer was a bit confusing given that DALI is 16VDC and not polarity sensitive on devices so I don't typically consider one wire DALI and one wire ground.

That was very informative and overwhelming. Lighting and its associated technology become a subset of knowledge. Having a person as a resource that is versed in the standards would make selecting products ideal. It would be difficult to find a suitable product with only cursory knowledge.

User purchase orders are what vendors are competing for. I did find it interesting that users only hold one of ten reasons for adopting a standard. It appeared that reducing associated manufacturing overhead takes priority over users in trying to position the standard for adoption.
