The term m-Health was first introduced implicitly as “Unwired e-med” in the first special issue of these transactions on wireless telemedicine systems. Since then, there have been significant advances in wireless communications and network technologies with parallel advances in pervasive and wearable systems. These advances have already made a significant impact on current e-health and telemedical systems. In general terms, m-Health can be defined as “mobile computing, medical sensor, and communications technologies for health care.”
