Hackspace Members on element14?

Howdy -

I'm a member of the hackerspace here in Chicago, Pumping Station: One.  I'm curious what other members of the element14 community are part of hackerspaces.

I just posted an intro to hackerspaces that I wrote for the element14 Journal, and I thought it would be fun and interesting to start a discussion on element14 about hackerspaces:

Hackerspaces: Join One or Start One!

http://www.element-14.com/community/blogs/pdp7/2010/09/16/hackerspaces-join-one-or-start-one/

And if you haven't connected with a local hackerspace yet, then be sure to check out the global list of spaces at:

http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/List_of_Hacker_Spaces

Cheers,

Drew

    Hi Spike,

I did actually go down a couple of weeks back with a couple of colleagues. Kelv has written about it and added some pics here. http://www.element-14.com/community/message/13112#13112

I probably shouldn't have said started the project, I really meant got some components together, and played through a few demo programs with the PIC32 starter kit I have

Terrific to hear about the spaces in Japan and UK!  I hope to visit them someday.  I've had a blast thus far getting to visit Noisebridge in SF, Hacker Dojo in Mountain View (aka Silicon Valley), i3 Detroit and  All Hands Active (Ann Arbor, MI).

One of the members of Pumping Station: One here, Jordan (@TensorFlux), and Bilal, from All Hands Active, actually traveled to every hackerspace in the US last year to make a documentary.  An airline here, JetBlue, offered an unlimited monthly fare and they took advantage! image  I am very eager to see the finished film!

    Cheers,

    Drew

    Hey Drew,

Thanks for the heads up on spaces. To be honest I'd never heard of them until you first posted here. I'd love to see the film. You think they'd host it here?
