OSHW Logo Selected!

Great news - there's now an official logo for Open Source Hardware:

http://www.adafruit.com/adablog/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/file-1.jpg

The results of the public votes for the OSHW logo are in! Almost 9000 people voted, and the community selected “Golden Orb” by Macklin Chaffee as the OSHW Logo v1.0 (submitted on Feb 11th, 2011). Congratulations Golden Orb, thank you all for voting! If you support the OSHW Definition 1.0, you can GO AHEAD and Apply the OSHW Definition and logo to you projects and circuits. Here’s to another great day for Open Hardware!

Adafruit loves it and will be marking their products with it:

We love this logo, it shows how it’s related to open source software (OSI) – and it has gears. Adafruit will be putting this on all of our boards going forward and also adding it to the product pages to indicate a project is open source hardware.

Cheers,

Drew

A bunch of implementations of the Logo have been posted in the OSHW summit forums.  There's bitmaps and vectors and gEDA and my own version for EAGLE (implemented as a ULP) http://www.openhardwaresummit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=421&view=unread#p846

I have to point out that having the gap at the bottom means bad luck with horseshoes, so I hope the new logo is not an omen of your success.

Meanwhile I wish the group all the good luck they need.

    Thanks

Is there some possibility to buy a bunch of stickers with this logo?
