Mining

Has anyone trien using a singleboard to min for virtual coins? Ive seen many videos abot this and the results seem to be about 50/50. So I was wondering if anyone on a site I trust has tried it. It seems easy to set up. Just a Pi a powered usb hub and some block eruptors. ( the actual mining tool ) Everyone says the whole setup put off heat pretty bad so some fans would be good. Anyway whats your thoughts?

Months ago it was still worth it to mine coins with the raspberry pi and ASIC´S. Right now, the difficulty for bitcoin is too high to get anything valuable from usb-powered asic miners and the tendency on new cryptocurrencies is towards the use of scrypt based algorithms that prevent the use of said ASICS.In my humble opinion mining casually is dead and unless you consider it an investment and want to make a real profit with heavy investment is useless.  Check out the tutorial at adafruit.com if you are still interested:  Initial Setup & Overview | PiMiner Raspberry Pi Bitcoin Miner | Adafruit Learning System

    1. Thank you for the info. I have actually learned that the vids I was seeing on youtube were quite okd. I guess itstill a possibility but not probable. I havent seen any other cryptocurrency being mined with Raspberry Pi either so I think Ill stick with my Python tutorials Nd see where that takes me.
