I try to design in such a way that component performance is not going to adversely affect circuit performance - any part will work, so no extra information is needed for these components.
In the very few cases where stringent component performance is necessary, it requires specific research to find the best part. I doubt there would be wide interest in a selection of esoteric parts, because it is highly unlikely the average design would require them, and it is unlikely that there would be coverage of exactly the odd part that each designer might need, but there still may be some interest.
It is nice to know when something new comes along that provides more design options or something new on the horizon that might change the game.
I couldn't decide if it falls under innovations or new products, but the sort of device that fmilburn has mentioned where MCU and Op-Amps are combined is really interesting to know about; please see his article here
Any forms of programmable/reconfigurable passive configuration would interest me.
