Yes. I was thinking of triggering a timer ( I think) that after a preset and adjustable timer ran, it would then open the ground side to the device.
Wouid this require a microprocessor ? I would also need an LED to signal the timer was not running an another to signal the timer was running.
Are there any currant product designs that may do the same thing, that you can think of ?
Sound like an easy design ?
Douglas, A couple of issues with this choice.
1. The timer is a potentiamter for timer.
Adjustability is not right. It only gives a limited few seconds of change for many turns. And it's a guess at what the result time will be.
I'm looking more for preset time graduation choices that can be quickly selected.
2. Once the timer has been triggered and completed, it will shut down the path to ground and need to have a reset so some kind to restart.
3. This is for a 12v circuit only. That is all that is needed.
Sorry, I didn't see any specs about the application, user interface, time period, accuracy, voltage or cost, so I was just guessing at what might be suitable.
Understandable. No problem.
