I watched this movie on Saturday, and I was pretty shocked. I know the movie will be slanted slightly to fit the producer's agenda, and that drama makes great movies, but they talked with some really senior government and oil industry officials, which is pretty out the ordinary for these types of movies. One thing it does show is we have to move away from an oil based economy as soon as possible to prevent wholescale catastrophic changes when there is not enough oil to fulfill our growing demands.
With oil prodicing states deliberately overestimating future reserves to proeserve present quotas, how much oil do we really have to meet growing demands? Do we have the estimated twenty years left to ensure a less disturbing changeover?
Should the billions of dollars spent combating global warming be moved to investigating efficient alternative energy solutions? After all that would help solve both problems!
I'd thouroughly recommend this movie to everyone, and linked it below. Have you seen it? What do you think?
