People have found some unusual places and things to live in over the years and this concept by architect Dai Haifei is an exceptional example. The 24 year old found that he couldn’t afford China’s high rental prices and decided to build his egg-shaped home that uses a solar panel for energy. Haifei built his house using bags for the walls that are made of bamboo splints. Inside the walls are wood chippings and grass seed that will grow to provide extra warmth during the cold season. Inside the house is a single bed, water tank and a single lamp that’s powered by a small solar panel. Dai told a reporter who asked about his unusual house, “I was impressed by the green-notion of building a house like that, especially in cities like Beijing where rental price for a fresh graduate is a huge burden, I feel good living here though it's simple, and a bit cold sometimes, what important for me, is - it saves me a lot of money!" Situated underneath the home is a pair of wheels so he can move where ever he wishes, however for now it sits right outside his office where he works saving him precious commute time. China Daily.
