Smartphone’s can chew through a charged battery like a hungry pack of wild dogs. Even my lowly HTC Hero needs to be charged once a day, and that’s with moderate use. However people with an iPhone have a few choices when it comes to charging your battery and this device created by Tjeerd Veenhoven is yet another option you can use. He calls it the iFan and he designed it using a modified computer fan housed in a soft rubber enclosure. The iFan takes about 6 hours to charge your phone but Veenhoven says that he’s going to try and redesign the fan blades to help shave some time off the charging process. I think this would come in pretty handy if you’re lost someplace in the outdoors with no other charging options. Side note: try spinning a computer fan and measure the outputs on the power wires. The results are pretty sizable for what it is.
