A new device developed by Tremont Electric can recharge your mobile gadgets by walking, hiking or running. Called ‘nPower PEG’, the device is shaped similar to a baton and generates power when floating magnets slide through coils, and the batons can be put in a backpack, briefcase or pouch where they synch to up-and-down motion to generate electricity, however the nPower PEG also has an internal battery that can be charged by using an USB port. As you move, the nPower PEG harvests and stores the kinetic energy that you're already generating and converts it into usable power for recharging over 3,000 hand-held devices such as your cell phone, Mp3 player, or camera. The Ohio-based company began selling the 160-dollar "kinetic" chargers in September and has been scrambling to catch up to demand.
