Can anyone please suggest a good development platform for research on a Home Building Energy Management System (HBEMS) project?+

 

The project involves :

Power Flow control algorithms

 

Artificial Neural Networks (hopefully adaptive) and

 

Time Scheduling with Genetic algorithms.

 

Do you have any suggestions?!

    Huum... Maybe start from scratch no?

    About Artificial neural networks, generic algoritms and powerflow algoritms I think you want some high level computing and programming, right??

    If you want make everything in one board and one CPU and high level of programming, maybe ARM processor for application purposes is suitable for you. You run an OS Linux/Windows system in the board and you can control the pins of the CPU to activate/read everything to control - of course devellopment for high voltage and power interface is needed.

     

    If I understand well your problem, may be my suggestion can help you.

     

    ARM Processor devellopment boards - PandaBoard, BeagleBoard, Raspberry Pi (this one, is lower power computing board comparing to other two... but is cheap... even that.. neural networks I think aren't easy with low frequencies ...).

    With some delay ( this data are from 2010) but the essential is there... and the board I referenced above are actual...
