Cycling Energy (Electricity)

As I a kid , I thought it would be possible to start a motor with a Battery, then get that motor to drive ( or turn ) another mother through a shaft, and the second motor in turn generates electricity which could be used to recharch the battery of the 1st Motor, and possibly other Devices. I haven;t thoroughly worked out the physics of it, but this is possible right?

  • Unfortunately the math just does not work.

     

    Unless you are dealing with super conducting devices, you lose too much energy from electricity to motor movement to generator movement to electricity.

    Each step in the process loses a level of energy, hence, you are in a negative sum for your efforts.

     

    I always quote the term TANSTAFL (There ain't no such thing as a free lunch).  Perpetual motion and free energy are oxymoronic statements.  There are no principles in physics that allow you to get energy out of a system that is greater than the energy you put into it.

     

    So you have a good idea, but you cannot get there in the real world.

    Always do the math first, it will save you a lot of time and frustration in the end.
