I have started working with electronics for a while now and I've somewhat understand everything pretty well but resistors. Do the lower amps and volts and how do you tell how much they lower it by the ohms or resistance? Thanks in advance to anyone who might reply to this.

    if you have a 5V battery driving a 1000 ohm bulb, you will have 5V across the bulb. If you put a 10 ohm resistor in series with it, you will have 5 * 10/(1000 + 10) volts across the resistor and

    5 * 1000/ (1000 + 10) volts across the bulb. If you put a 1 ohm resistor in series, you will see about a 0.1% reduction in voltage across the bulb.

    so it depend on what kinda resistor you use

    Thanks that makes more sense than the videos I tried to watch so how do I tell how many ohms a lightbulb or anything I'm powering is?

    well according to ohm's law, resistance would be the voltage divided by current, so the resistance of a light bulb can be measured by the voltage across it simultaneously and the current through it.
