I really would like to create a power supply for my retro consoles. Something to connect thin wires with barrel connector to without all the wall warts and power strips. I know for 1st and 2nd consoles I know low frequency power allows the console to produce the best picture but linear voltage regulators are really inefficient but switch mode buck converter are very high frequency . The voltages vary between 8-12 volts to depending on the console and amps vary more(I know it will pull what it need). New switch mode power supplies are great for 3rd gen and further because the voltage tolerances are higher but was wondering if I could make one power supply with multiple connection and 1 120v wall sources to power all. At most 3-4 consoles would be on at a time so I am not worried about connection overloads. I have seen hack laptop power supplies and I know the importance of getting polarity correct. Most important part is stable power, 3 voltage options, and surge protection. Anyone wanna help?
