Hi,

I Want a converter power supply which will have different protection circuit with industrial grade quality.

a. Input supply will be from battery 10Volts to 24Volts (Current rating of the battery 20Ah to 40Ah) and i need a output voltage 5.5Volts or adjustable.

b. I need output voltage 5.5Volts or adjustable voltage and Output Current rating of the converter should by 10Amps.

c. Input and output Noise proof.

d. Required protection: under-voltage, over-voltage, over-heating, Reverse polarity protection.

e. 18 Hours Continuous operation of this converter will be there in a day.

f. Load for this Geared 10 DC Motors and six 5 Volts Relay.

g. Automotive application

Further this power supply will be connected to the controller, sensors and IO switches.

This will be used in outdoor applications.

Kindly help me with good, reliable and industrial grade application and even you can help me any additional safety measures i have to take in building up the PCB design for entire thing.

    Hi Rajkiran,

Something like TI Webench Power Designer can help you a lot of the way. Some of the features you require may be already present in the design (i.e. using that tool and the TI website, look to find the part with the features you want).

By the way, it sounds like a single point of failure if you're running 10 motors from this supply as well as controller, sensors etc as you say.

    HI Shabaz,

Thanks for the reply. Really its an great input for me and got to know something new and interesting.

As i had mentioned in the above in that actually the motors which i am using it is not connected to the supply, instead as i am using 4 relays here and motor is connected to the Normally open pin of the relay. 2 relays as a pair. When relay 1 and 2 is triggered that time motor will rotate in clock wise direction, and when Relay 3 and 4 is activated the same motor will rotate in anti clock wise direction.

And the supply for the motor will be direct from the battery.

Can you suggest me some good circuit for the relay driver with some protections like snubber circuit etc.,

Can i use ULN 2003 driver and optocoupler together in a same relay driver circuit ?
