Throughout my years of engineering I have never come across a book concerning an in depth explanation of generators. Every book I have on motors is woefully inadequate on the subject of generation. Each one may have a chapter somewhere that gives a brief overview of how reversing direction and some wiring changes a motor can be used as a generator, but I don't want just this cursory overview. I want delve deeper into the esoteric world generators.
Even when I search online I don't find much material on generators. So, I have been stuck with the traditional task of trial and error. And in the process I discovered quite a bit, and I had limited success. However, with the proper references I could be experiencing better motor(generator) output results.
Can anyone suggest some definitive books on the subject? On a side note; if there isn't a definitive book on generators, someone could make a lot of money writing one.
