Let's say you have an enclosure with a hand full of devices mounted to a steel back-panel. An AC power receptacle is placed in the side of the box, and the ground, green, wire is bolted to the panel. Now, all the devices need to be grounded too, but where do you have to tie the grounds too? Some say just the panel, because it is essentially the same point as the AC ground. And I always tie my grounds to the bolt the AC ground is using. This way the grounds are sharing the same piece of metal. My concern is creating a ground loop otherwise.
Am I just getting a little to particular, does connecting to the same bolt really matter? What kind of experiences have you had?
