Disney's Pixar's iconic lamp? No, it is ArduinoArts' SM-1, the "annoying IKEA lamp," a finalist entry for SeeedStudio's Grove Toy Kit contest. It really has done an amazing job re-creating the look and action of Pixar's lamp.
Javier Lander's SM-1 project consists of two servos (one in the base and one in the lamp), sensors for motion and sound, a three axis accelerometer, LED light and audio board all driven by an Arduino shield. This is all merged together to make the amazing IKEA lamp. I think this would actually take off pretty well if you have a Disney Pixar fan at home. Though, it has a long way to go.
Head over to Lander's site for more video, and design files to build your own. Hopefully the open source community will smooth out its operation.

Pixar lamp fun facts :The lamp is a "Luxo lamp," created by Jac Jocobsen in 1937, and is made originally by Luxo. Luxo is also a Scandinavian company. Pixar has used the Luxo lamp with Luxos permission for a long time. However since Disney purchased Pixar, Disney now feels that they own the Luxo lamp and has started producing it. Last I heard Luxo is suing Disney, but knowing the American legal system the richest will probably win.
