Zombiebot, combines the zombie craze with robots

Zombiebot (via Wowwee)

Shooting is great. Whether its target practice with a rubber band or playing Battlefield 3, heck I’ll shoot someone with spitball and have a good time. WowWee has come up with a good toy to satisfy that killing instinct that is surely the cause of my spitballs. RoboZombie, or ZombieBot, is a rogue cyborg zombie that has been infected by a renegade virus and it is up to you to regain control.

The premise is straightforward. Kill the ZombieBot or die. For this, you get the ZombieBot Nerf gun capable of shooting 4 quick shots as the RoboZombie hurls itself for your brains, his eyes glowing a godforsaken red and green. If you can’t get the job done in less than 30 seconds you are dead.

To kill it, you must shoot of its arms and head. Its glowing eyes are actually health indicator tells you how close you are to winning your survival.

Ok so the bot is not nearly as menacing as I made it out to be but after 30 seconds the gun explodes in your hand and you die. Ok maybe you don’t run risk of dying but the game is over after that and you switch turns or go at it again. Its actually just over a foot tall and rolls with wheels under its feet. (Maybe WowWee can come up with an Adult version of ZombieBot that more closely follows my premise. After all, WowWee is responsible for the Robosapien)

ZombieBot has another mode where it can be controlled by an arrow pad on the included nerf gun. This may seem like a bad place to put a control pad for ZombieBot, right above the gun aiming to shoot it. Attack mode is probably the main one player mode because playing with friends and taking the Zombie’s side could be a lot of fun, as long as you have another nerf gun. Also, if you happen to have a few ZombieBots one remote could control multiple so there is a lot of potential for child creativity.

The toy was announced at this years New York Toy Fair but no other information about its release except for it will be around come Christmas time. Ne’er too early to write your holiday wish list.
