If you’re a photographer or use a camcorder of some sort you’ve probably heard of time lapse video. Usually taking time lapse video meant that you had to use a stationary tripod or equivalent to capture your video without shaky movements. But what if you wanted to move that stationary point and make it mobile? Kind of hard to do huh? Maybe not so much anymore as Brian Grabski of Designed and Made has come up with a rather ingenious device that lets you move your camera without the inevitable ‘bounce’ that comes along with it. He made his device using skateboard wheels that ride on a swivel bearing which is driven by a geared motor that runs along a custom made track that breaks down for portability. The motor is controllable with the ability to adjust its speed of movement and even has a ‘kill’ switch just in case it runs out of track protecting the equipment that rides on top.
