Anyone have any experience with the Microsoft Robotics Studio? It looks like it has a lot of interesting features, I am just curious if anyone has actually used it to develop any robotic applications.
Thanks,

DAB,
I will definitely look into this. What I like about MS Robotics Studio is the simulation of already available robots. For example the iRobot Create, the inexpensive robotics platform. You can run simulations of your bot and see how it performs with various tasks like mazes, soccer, and other competitions.
Lately I have been tinkering with LEGO's NXT (Mindstrom) and ROS (Robotic Operating System). Most of the time, my "robot" projects are so simple, PIC assembly is all I need. But I would like to get more in-depth with bots. Only so much time in the day.

Hi E,
Yes, the simulation aspect was what led me to the Microsoft site. Not only does it let you virtually design your robot, you can also design your test/operating environment. The more I dig into the documentation, the more I am liking the approach. Plus, it is FREE!
Like you, I have limited time to play with these things, but I have moved learning this package higher on the list than it had been.
I will try to keep the group informed of what I find, but I urge anyone playing with robots to go look at the site at Microsoft. They can provide you with a lot of information in one downloaded package.
Good luck,
DAB
I hope the MS Robot Studio links up with the Kinect for Windows SDK.
Then, perhaps I will look into it all.

Hi E,
You just got your wish. Microsoft just anounced that they were including the Kinect SDK with the Robotics Studio. I think Microsoft has a winning deal here. The software is FREE and the tools are well done. I have been playing with the Virtual System simulation and it is really cool. All I need now is some time to play with these tools.
Enjoy,

hey what actually this MS studio is capable of? i hav just heard about it..
