Robotics Competition @ IIT Kharagpur | Robotix 2013

Interested in electronics, programming, microcontrollers or robotics? Find them all under one roof in ROBOTIX 2013, the annual technological extravaganza presented by Technology Robotix Society, to be held during 1 – 4 February 2013 as a part of Kshitij, the annual Techno-Management Fest of IIT Kharagpur. With challenging and innovative problem statements designed to test your robot building and programming skills to the fullest, and a substantial bounty up for grabs, we present the autonomous events of ROBOTIX 2013.   • Hosting this competition is a spectacular idea.  Robtotics is a large part of the technology of the future.  It has been a developing technology for the past couple of decades.  It involves the use of the fields of computer science and mechancial engineering.  Artificial intelligence will become more and more prominent in the future.  In the 1990's in Japan, they had robots working in restaurants making sandwiches for customer's as well as working in autobody shops.  That was only the begining.  In the future, artificial intelligence will be at the point where robots weill be doing household chores, as well as more heavy labor in the industry.  These competitions only encourage the growth of this technology, and me as well as many others in the engineering field are hoping to watch this technology become more and more advanced as tiem goes on.

    @Alvin: We understand and appreciate the fact that robots are the next gen thing. Hence to spread the awareness about robotics we host this competition every year at IIT Kharagpur, which happens to be India's foremost technical insitution. Apart from this annual robotics competition, we also have multiple research projects going on in the field of robotics, like Robocup for FIRA, Autonomous Ground Vehicle Project for Darpa AGV challenge and others. Also note that we conduct an online coding event which receives participation from Japan, Thailand and other Asian countries. This year also we are having an online coding event called The Marauder's Map. Have a look into it, we'd love to have participation from the United States as well.
