Team HyperShock Competes in BattleBots

"Kinetic kill" is an aspect that I do not think translates to the physical world.

Seeing the bots destroy each other on TV is fun.

Seeing and hearing the noises live is thrilling.

Touching one of the bots and realizing it weighs more than an average person is mind-blowing.

Seeing them fly around the ring is awesome. And then, realize they weigh 250 lbs each! That, to me, gives a new meaning to kinetic energy.

I have enjoyed battlebots for many decades.

It has been an interesting show to follow as the technology keeps evolving.

In the early days you just had push bots, which were less than exciting, but now you have the kinetic kill technology that is really fun to watch.

a tradeoff of power vs weight make sense given the rules, seems these events are so unlikely overall that its not worth protecting these parts. still feels odd to me.

tombstone was such a dominant bot and it had open wheels but getting a weapon towards them was very unlikely.
I favor competition to destruction over points as it is in other combat series, but given the rule hypershock is under this design is a bit more understandable.

My hopes for this season is more carnage and wrecked bots instead of one just stopping to move after a few hits..

I am not a builder or on any team but I think I can answer the exposed wheel question. The answer is simply weight where do you take the weight out of to build a cage or enlarge the frame to now hold the tires which cause more space issues inside the frame. tombstone's Ray billings(sp?) on Scorpios youtube channel talked about this. someone did a win loss ratio of bots with the tires protected and exposed and it slightly favored the exposed tires over the protected but otherwise didn't impact the win/loss rate. Hypershock also runs with 4 tires which gives it better traction and speed over all 2 wheeled bots taking a loss of 1 tire will not prevent the bot from moving possibly up to 2 tire losses if they aren't on the same side.  with the new rules on what is considered movement, they will not be counted out with both tires on the same side removed, while their movement will be very restricted it's not an auto-loss.

I want to know why the Wheels  and chains are exposed, this makes no sense to me but I'm sure there is a good reason for that design choice. In battle of course you´d rather let amotor bun out instead of popping a fuse and risking immobility so why risk a cahin getting tangeled or a tire ripped?
Also I´d like to know if certain types of weapons are outlawed. I haven´t seen widia blades on nay of the bots, but it seems like an obvious addon to any high speed spinner.

Meeting the team, talking to Will, and getting to see the "Battlebots pit" was one of the coolest things I have ever gotten to do.
