Magnetic Proximity Sensors - how does it work?

I would like to know what kind and type of output does the following sensors give:

 

59150-010 - HAMLIN - PROXIMITY SENSOR | element14 Malaysia

59125-010 - HAMLIN - PROXIMITY SENSOR | element14 Malaysia

57125-000. - HAMLIN - SENSOR ACTUATOR | element14 Malaysia

 

Is it change in magnetic field or voltage/current ? I'm going programmed it to work with Arduino. It would be difficult if doesn't give voltage/current output, as it would require additional circuitry.

    All the component are a simple switch. When the actuator is close to the sensor, the switch change state (if Normally Open it become close...)

    So if you want to detect a binary position (the actuator is present or not) you can use it with a pull up or pull down resistor

    Thank you for your reply. I would like to know what is the output when the switch changes from normally close to open. Is it a change in voltage? If so, what are the values?. Or do I need to use another component with it so that I can have a change in voltage as the output?

    Hello,

     

    A switch can open or close a circuit. So if the switch close the circuit, the voltage at the second pin is the same as the first pin. (I said first and second pin to differentiate the pin but in reality the switch doesn't have a polarity).

    If the switch is open, the voltage at the second pin is different as the first pin.

    So you have to connect the first pin for example to 3.3V with a resistor about 1k or more and the second pin directly to the GND. After you connect for example the first pin to the microcontroller.

    When the switch will be open, the voltage will be 3.3V. So the microcontroller will detect a 1. When the switch will be close, the voltage will be 0V so the microcontroller will detect a 0.
