Motion detection

Hi,

I am looking for an outdoor motion sensor for an outdoor application. I would be glad if you can advise me appropriate sensor/sensors that meets my requirements herebelow:

- Sensor should be able to operate between -30 C and 50C degree.

- Sensor should be able to detect a pedestrian or/and a car

- Preferably it should sense from a far distance ( >20m) however, shorter detection distance could be fine

- Preferably the mounting height should be ( > 8m). However, >4m could be acceptable

- Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) value should be more than 10 years.

- Price should be budget-friendly.

I would appreciate all suggestions.

I am also learning stuff but think of 3 sensors

Proximity sensor
Ultrasonic Sensor
Laser Sensor

These are listed in order of price. Please correct me if i am wrong.

I forgot to add one more feature. The sensor should have a wider (>90 degree) beam for the detection.

I am more interested if someone could suggest me a brand/model of a motion detector that fulfils my requirement.

Hi Serdar,

You didn't specify if it is about one piece or you need this info for your product...
In case of first option, you could consider purchasing a product with the requested features related to the sensor and disassemble it - you might take a look in Steinel's lights, in particular their RS family containing a radar sensor.
