This sounds like an EE senior design project to me, am I correct? Edit: Maybe too advanced for a senior design, so a Master's Thesis?

Can you tell a bit more about your application? Why can't you use load sensing? Please give more information on what your constraints are. If you can't use load sensing, you'll have to use a camera and…

New tryout:Iam considering to put a series of wires from one left to right as the person sits the seat gets pressed, this results in the elongation of the wires resulting in the change in resistance. As the person sits on the seat the maximum load acting is on the center thanks to the shape of the Butts that results in maximum deformation of wires. This method will give us a way to take the load and a valid occupant. Moreover we can also install an addon weight sensor on the suspensions that can detect the overload in case all the wires show any deflection

    Hi Eeshan,

You will need to be careful of this solution as the wire can easily enter the plastic region and stay permanently at last measurement.
