What got stuck to my shoe

I received a shipment of TCA9548A multiplexes in an anti-static bags. Slip in between the folds of one of the packages was this module. I suspect it is a long lost chip trying to find it way home. I've been unsuccessful in discovering what it is, so I can't give it purpose. Any suggestions?

The silver package to the left has the markings 1244 U401 001. The black components towards the top od the PCB has LB2K. There are no components or markings on the back of the board.

Anyone see this beast before?

The dimension of the board is 1cm square. It came with a five pin header not soldered.

Holds promise gents. Similar numbers on the can.

Maybe it's a pressure sensor, e.g. like Bosch BMP280 or similar. I'd recommend building this sometime (it's easy, just a few wires and two resistors connected to a Pi Pico, and drag-and-drop programming…

I found this online. Looks identical except the marking has some difference. I would assume it would be the batch ID difference. https://robu.in/product/bmp180-digital-barometric-pressure-sensor-module…

I'd recommend building this sometime (it's easy, just a few wires and two resistors connected to a Pi Pico, and drag-and-drop programming so no need for any special software/IDE):

USB-to-I2C with a Pi Pico: Building an Easy I2C Adapter for PC control of I2C Devices

With that, you can query every single I2C address to see what addresses it responds to, and then it's easier to identify.  (There are other ways to do this without a Pi Pico, but I think that's a nice way, and can be a general purpose tool for trying out things with all sorts of I2C attached boards).

Looks the same as a lot of the BMP180 sensor boards.

Ah, that could be it. I bought one ages ago (naked BMP though without board) to experiment with, but it's so tiny I misplaced it!

If it is I2C couldn't I just raspberry pi it on a few pins?

You could, there's an i2cdetect command which does a similar thing.

(Updated that project, so that it's possible to check a database of about 700 I2C device names).
