Odds N Ends
I went to the craft store early this week to get some more fake flowers, ribbon, plastic crystals to disguise the NeoPixels, and a hot glue gun. I know! It’s crazy that I didn’t own a hot glue gun until this week.
Hoodie Within a Hoodie
I also picked up a second hoodie that I promptly stripped of its zipper, turned inside out, and proceeded to sew and snap in place inside the flower hoodie. This second hoodie is essentially a lining to hide the wires and add a little more warmth. I also put the battery pack, Flora, and WiFi module in the inner pocket of the pink hoodie. It looks great!
Crystal Magic
I used an Xacto knife to scrape away some of the flashing on the back of a dozen plastic crystals and set to work with my hot glue gun putting them in place on the top of the NeoPixels. I read about this online somewhere but couldn’t find the link.
It’s the home stretch. I’m still making a few tweaks to the code and there’s a pesky loose-connection-flicker that I’m trying to troubleshoot. But if all goes well then I’ll be wearing this hoodie by the start of next week! Be on the lookout for my wrap-up post.
