There are a number of ways to join an embedded headless device to a Wi-Fi network, and ACKme supports them all.
Not all methods are preferred in the lab environment when engineers are experimenting. Often in the lab, engineers want to work with terminal emulators, keeping command prompts verbose to get a grasp of the operation(s) that their microcontroller will need to achieve. Engineers may also, in these circumstances, want to switch between verbose human friendly commands and machine optimized commands depending on the work they are trying to do, but on other occasions they simply just want to get a device on a network without the overhead of any terminal emulator, ACKme today released its QSU tool.
The QSU, Quick Start Utility, is a simple tool that sets up a device with little need to understand the tasks going on in the background, that said, the utility also offers a small window in to the communication however to help engineers with the learning curve along the way
